A Guide to Diamond Clarity.
“Every natural diamond carries a quiet record of its formation — a private language of light, written deep within the earth.”
Clarity refers to the natural inclusions and surface characteristics formed as a diamond develops deep within the earth — over billions of years, under extraordinary heat and pressure. These features are not imperfections, but the quiet signatures of origin.
Most are microscopic. A trained gemologist evaluates them under 10× magnification to determine a diamond's clarity grade, considering their size, number, position, nature and relief.
From Flawless to included.

Chosen by the eye, not the loupe alone.
The grade is the language. Beauty is the measure.
Most Giuliana diamonds fall within the higher clarity grades — hand-selected for a clean, luminous appearance. Each stone is evaluated to ensure any natural markings remain invisible to the unaided eye.
We consider clarity in dialogue with cut and proportion. A well-placed inclusion, hidden beneath a prong, is of no consequence to beauty. Our adviser will walk you through every consideration in person.
Five quiet considerations.
Size
The dimension of any inclusion within the stone.
Number
How many features are present under magnification.
Position
Where inclusions sit — beneath the table or near the girdle.
Nature
The character of each feature, from crystals to feathers.
Relief
How visibly an inclusion stands against the diamond.

A diamond worthy of a lifetime.
